The Millennium Commission was the organisation through which National Lottery Money was channeled to create a celebration and a legacy of the Millennium, including the creation of the Millennium Greens. The Countryside Commission had approached the Millennium Commission for the grant required to set up the Greens and the CC, and its successors have administered the Greens.
