Children form a major part in the purpose and operation of most Greens. The majority of Greens have at least one feature designed with children in mind- a plaything to climb on or go inside, for example. Many art features are designed and created either by or for children.
Education for Children on Millennium Greens[]
Most Greens have some aspect of education in their design or operation and most of that is for children. Many Greens form links with their local schools and have projects on the Green with that school.
Youth Organisations[]
A number of Greens, such as Halton Village have involved such groups as Scouts, guides, or Brownies in volunteering. There is clearly scope for young people to do the Service aspects of their Chief Scout's Award or their Duke of Edinburgh Award linked to the Greens.
Art[]
Art projects usually have an aspect of child involvement. New Southgate had an art event specifically for children in 2013.
Events[]
Many Greens have events designed with children in mind, such as New Southgate's Easter Events.
